Coronary Vascular Intervention

Coronary Vascular Intervention (CVI), also known as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), includes minimally invasive procedures for treating coronary artery disease (CAD). CAD occurs when the coronary arteries become narrowed or blocked by plaque, leading to symptoms like chest pain and shortness of breath. CVI aims to restore blood flow to the heart, alleviate symptoms, and lower the risk of heart attacks. Common techniques used in PCI include balloon angioplasty and stent placement, which help reopen blocked arteries and improve heart health.

  • Coronary Balloon Catheters

Coronary balloon catheters are used for the dilatation of the stenotic portion of a coronary artery or bypass graft stenosis.

  • Coronary Drug Eluting Stent System

Coronary drug-eluting stent (DES) systems are stents which are pre-mounted on a balloon catheter. DES are used for the treatment of coronary arteries and release an anti-proliferative drug to the vessel wall.

  • Coronary Covered Stent Systems

Coronary covered stent systems are stents which are pre-mounted on a balloon catheter. The stent is covered by a membrane on its external surface which acts to seal a perforated vessel.

*PK Papyrus is a Humanitarian Device. Authorized by Federal law for use in the treatment of acute perforations of native coronary arteries and coronary bypass grafts in vessels 2.5 to 5.0 mm in diameter. The effectiveness of this device for this use has not been demonstrated.

  • Coronary Microcatheter

Coronary microcatheters are used to support guide wires during access of coronary vasculature and allow for exchange of guide wires. Additionally they also provide a conduit for the delivery of diagnostic contrast agents.

  • Coronary Trapping Balloon Catheters

Coronary trapping balloon catheters are used within the guiding catheter to facilitate interventional device exchange while maintaining wire position in patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) procedures.

    Peripheral Vascular Intervention

Peripheral vascular intervention (PVI), also known as peripheral artery intervention, encompasses a variety of different minimally invasive percutaneous procedures used to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD). PAD is a condition in which the arteries outside the heart, typically in the legs and feet, become narrowed or blocked usually due to the buildup of plaque. PVI aims to restore blood flow in these peripheral arteries, relieve symptoms, and prevent complications.

    • Peripheral Multifunctional Catheter

BIOTRONIK's unique multifunctional catheter is intended for percutaneous transluminal interventions in the peripheral vasculature. The device was developed to provide support during access into and to dilate stenoses in femoral, popliteal and infrapopliteal arteries.
The Oscar peripheral multifunctional catheter is comprised of three user-adjustable components:

      • Oscar support catheter with integrated Lock Grip
      • Oscar extendable dilator
      • Oscar length-adjustable percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloon

    • Peripheral Stent Systems

Peripheral stent systems are minimally invasive devices used to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD) that requires additional support to maintain vessel patency after insufficient results with percutaenous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). Stents can be self-expanding or balloon-exandable, with unique qualities to each that benefit various clinical presentations.

    • Peripheral Balloon Catheters

PTA (Peripheral Transluminal Angioplasty) balloon catheters are minimally invasive devices indicated to dilate stenoses in various peripheral arteries afflicted with peripheral artery disease (PAD).  PTA balloons are designed to be inflated to their indicated diameter to restore blood flow in blocked arteries.

    • Peripheral Accessories

Peripheral vascular accessories are crucial components of interventional procedures. These tools are designed to assist healthcare professionals in managing peripheral artery disease (PAD), by assisting in both accessing the artery blockages and helping to achieve closure at the conclusion of the intervention.
